Benefits
The Kansas Department of Labor offers its employees
excellent benefits, which contribute to the overall compensation
package. This partial summary of benefits relates to positions
in the classified service. Some benefits are similar for unclassified
employees.
- Dental Insurance
Payment of at least 50 percent of allowable charges
- Group Term Life Insurance
Lump-sum payment of 150 percent of eligible employee's annual
salary to beneficiary
- Health Insurance
Employees can choose from numerous Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or Preferred Provider
Organization (PPO) plans.
- Holidays
Nine paid holidays per year. Governor may designate additional
days.
- KanElect
Flexible benefits plan which allows employees to pay certain
expenses with pretax dollars.
- Kansas Public Retirement System
(KPERS)
Following one year of service, employees become members and
begin contributing.
- Lifestyle Hours
Flexible work hours that meet the needs of both the employee
and agency in order to maintain a family friendly work environment.
- Sick Leave (Personal or Family)
Upon employment start earning sick leave.
- Tuition Reimbursement
With prior approval, employees can be reimbursed for up to three credit hours per semester.
- Vacation
Upon employment begin earning and using vacation leave, up to
12 days within the first year.
