Answers to your questions about E-mail Notices
Have you noticed that you’re receiving hearing notices by e-mail rather than mail? That’s because we’ve "gone green". Here are some answers to some of the most common questions we receive about the notices via e-mail:
Sometimes I receive a hard copy of the hearing notice and application for hearing in the mail, other times I don’t. Can you tell me why?
The Director of Workers Compensation is required by law to mail a certified copy of the application for a hearing to the adverse party. Once the application for hearing is filed, all parties are mailed a paper copy of the hearing notice and the adverse party also will receive a certified copy of the application for hearing. If an email address is on file, the notice of hearing also will be sent by e-mail.
This means, if you’re not the adverse party, you won’t receive a paper copy of the application for hearings like you used to. Also, we won´t send notifications of subsequent filings to anyone to eliminate duplication. The adverse party is responsible for sending copies of any subsequent filings to the other party.
Why can’t we list more than one e-mail address to receive email notices at our location?
To simplify and reduce the amount of update/change information we receive, we ask you to identify a single mailbox within your organization to receive notifications.
Why can’t you send an e-mail notice of hearing to the employer or insurance carrier at the same time it’s mailed to the attorney?
All parties to the action should receive e-mail notice of hearing if we have an e-mail address on file.
I did not receive an email copy of a hearing notice. What should I do?
Call us at 7852968481 and we´ll forward a duplicate copy. When you call be sure to have your e-mail address ready so that we can match it against the address we have on file.
We don´t have an email address; what will happen to our hearing notices?
In our effort to "go green" whenever possible we prefer to use an email address. If you do not have an email address, it will be mailed to your postal address.
