The two new Administrative Law Judges? Rebecca A. Sanders and Marcia L. Yates-Roberts have joined Work Comp as Administrative Law Judges. Sanders based in Topeka and Yates-Roberts in Overland Park.

Judge Sanders and Yates-Robers will conduct hearings, examine witnesses and consider and resolve the issues of law and facts raised in hearings of contested workers compensation cases.

No stranger to the Kansas Department of Labor, Sanders began her employment in 2002 working as an administrative law judge in the Division of Unemployment Insurance in which she held administrative hearings and made determinations on disputed unemployment insurance claims. She was the Chief of Unemployment Appeals from October 2004 to June 2008.

A graduate of the Washburn University School of Law, Sanders previously was an assistant county counselor for Johnson County, Kansas, general counsel for the Kansas Board of Tax Appeals and staff attorney for the Kansas Insurance Department.

Another graduate of Washburn University School of Law, Yates-Roberts worked 10 years as a staff attorney for the Kansas State Self-Insurance Fund. She also worked as senior workers compensation manager, providing training for workers compensation supervisors and direct supervision of adjusters with regard to claims management.
