Accident Prevention Unit

Under state law K.S.A. 44-5,104, insurance companies providing workers compensation coverage are to provide certain safety services to those they insure. If you have requested assistance in your safety and health program and your workers compensation carrier denied you assistance, please contact our office at (785) 296-6324. During the call, you will be asked to provide the name of the carrier and of the individual denying your request. If you requested assistance from your carrier in writing and your denial was in writing, our office may ask you to furnish a copy of the request and denial. Workers compensation carriers must help their policyholders with written safety and health programs, and provide a hazard assessment of your facility.

Insurance companies are to file form K-ISH 28 with our department on an annual basis. Call our office for a form that we can fax or mail to you.
