Annual Report 2008
An important change has been made in the FY 2008 34th Annual Statistical Report from previous years. In Section 3, the closed claim comparative analysis now includes the most recent year of the closed claims study. In the past, we only published data up to the previous year for this section. The closed claim comparative analysis can be found under the section heading "Comparative Analysis of 1999-2008 CCS Claims Costs and Temporal Characteristics" (page 141 in the report). This will affect the following tables:
1) Table 3-13 "2008 Closed Claims Study Workers Compensation
Claims in Kansas for Calendar Years 1998-2007"
2) Table 3-14 "2008 Closed Claims Study Total Claims Costs for
Calendar Years 1998-2007"
3) Table 3-15 "2008 Closed Claims Study Temporal Characteristics
of Claims for Calendar Years 1998-2007"

Two important changes have been made in the FY 2007 33rd Annual Statistical Report
from previous years. Please note the following changes:
1) In Section 3, Table 3-9 "2007 Closed Claims Study Claim Costs
by Part of Body Injured, and Nature and Cause of Injury" on pg. 132
has been expanded to show the top ten most frequent occurrences.
2) In Section 3, tables showing detailed claims costs by categories for
part of body injured, cause of injury, and nature of injury have been
removed. If you would like receive the data for these particular
categories, e-mail Robert Soria at robert.soria@dol.ks.gov
or David Sprick at david.sprick@dol.ks.gov with your request.

Two important changes have been made in the FY 2006 32nd Annual Statistical Report
from previous years. Please note the following changes:
1) The Fraud and Abuse statistics and narrative formerly located
in Section 4 are now located in Section 1 on pages 25-27.
2) To help distinguish between data for the Workers Compensation
Board and the regular administrative law court, in this report the
Judicial unit has been renamed the Administrative Law Judges unit
and contains greatly expanded statistics and narrative which can
be found on pages 18-22.
