Schedule of Medical Fees

The January 1, 2008 edition of the Schedule of Medical Fees is now available for download. The current (December 1, 2005) edition will continue to be available for download for an indefinite period of time, for convenience in billing services provided between December 1, 2005 and the end of 2007.

For 2008, the complete Schedule will be available as a single file only. Appendix B, the Quick Reference Table in the back of the Schedule, will also be available as a separate file in addition to its inclusion as an appendix. The reason the 2005 Schedule was offered both as a single file and as 25 separate files was due to its huge file size (12.9 megabytes). With the 2008 edition, we were able to achieve more than a 90% reduction in the size of the single, complete Schedule file, despite an increase in the number of pages by seven. With the size of the complete 2008 file at 1.1 megabytes, there was judged to be little need to offer a set of smaller files, given the time needed to download even at a speed as low as 56 kbps.

The Quick Reference Table online search engine has been upgraded to use the new 2008 values. The original version of this Web application using December 1, 2005 values will continue to be available online for an indefinite period of time, for convenience in billing services provided between December 1, 2005 and the end of 2007. When using the QRT online search engine, please take care to ensure you use the version appropriate for your billing needs.

Printing Note: When printing a specific page or pages from any of these documents, your printer will use the page number shown in the box at the bottom of the Acrobat Reader window, not the page number shown on the actual document. For example, if you want to print pages 52 and 53 in the Kansas WC Schedule of Medical Fees 2008, you would tell the printer to print pages 57-58. If printing an unnumbered page, again use the page number shown in the box at the bottom of the Acrobat Reader window.

The bold-face heading bookmarks take you to the corresponding listing in the Table of Contents. The indented light-face bookmarks take you to the first page of the corresponding section in the Schedule.

This paragraph pertains to the 2005 edition only: Files with 01 through 25 in the beginning of the filename are individual section files containing the specific rules for that section [e.g., Surgery]; these are available for those who do not need or wish to download the entire fee schedule at one time. If you do download only individual sections, please make sure to download the 01 KWC Medical Fee Schedule 2005 - General & Intro file along with the other sections, so that you also have the general rules set forth in the Schedule.

ERRATA

Please note in the section on Medical Equipment and Supplies, that corrective changes have been made in the following HCPCS L-codes: L3914, and L8505 through L-8609. These changes are:

• L3914 has been replaced with L3915
• L8505 has been deleted;
• L8507 through L8606 have each been shifted up one row in the fee table, so that the fee formerly associated with L8505 is now associated with L8507, and so on; and,
• L8609 has been inserted in the space formerly occupied by L8606

Please note these changes have already been made in the download file available through the link above. No changes have been made to the Quick Reference Table download file available through the link below, or in the table used by the QRT online search engine because the Medical Equipment and Supplies fees are not included in the Quick Reference Table.
