Workers Compensation - Mediation Section

The division strongly encourages workers and employers to resolve disputes over workers compensation benefits by mutual agreement. For this purpose, the division has a full time, certified mediator to assist workers and employers reach an agreement on any contested issue. The division's mediation services are free of charge, and mediation conferences can be set at various locations throughout the state for the convenience of the parties. When practical, mediation conferences can be conducted by teleconference, or videoconference.

Parties to a mediation conference can communicate confidentially with the mediator. If the dispute is resolved in mediation, the mediator can produce a written agreement, or an agreed order, to memorialize the terms of the resolution.
