Nonfarm Payroll Employment

Since January 2003, nonfarm payroll employment estimates have been based on the North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS).
Nonfarm payroll estimates will no longer be produced based on the Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) system. Data
from 1939-2000, developed under the SIC system, is still
available for Kansas and metropolitan statistical areas.
Both actual and seasonally adjusted statistics are also available
for specific industries or series of data through the US Department
of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics Web site at http://www.bls.gov/sae/home.htm.
