SIDES Participation
The State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) and SIDES E-Response allow companies to electronically respond to UI information requests from KDOL. This eliminates delays caused by mailing the documents. Once you are enrolled in SIDES you can use your Employer PIN to access the SIDES site.

KDOL Recognized at National Seminar

The National Association of State Workforce Agencies' (NASWA) 2019 State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) Seminar in Nashville recently recognized several employers, Professional Employer Organizations (PEO's), Third-Party-Administrators (TPA's), and agencies for their dedication to reducing fraud and waste in the Unemployment Insurance (UI) system by their commitment to utilizing SIDES for UI benefit claims.

KDOL, along with other state agencies, attended the seminar and accepted the award at a ceremony on April 4, 2019.

Two New Directors Appointed to KDOL Leadership Team

Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) Acting Secretary, Delía García, has selected Laurel Klein Searles to serve as Director of Unemployment Insurance and Julie Menghini as Director of Communications/Legislative Liaison for the agency. The appointments are effective immediately.

Acting Secretary García, believes they will be key members to the KDOL Leadership team. “By selecting Julie as the Communications Director and Legislative Liaison, we can draw upon her legislative and constituent services experiences and background in both human resources and communications to better serve Kansas citizens and businesses,” she said. “Laurel’s previous experience at KDOL allows her to hit the ground running as our new Unemployment Insurance Director. I am pleased to welcome her back to KDOL.” Read more here.

Flachsbarth Named KDOL Deputy Secretary

Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) Acting Secretary, Delía Garcia, has selected KDOL Unemployment Insurance Director, Brett Flachsbarth, to serve as the Deputy Secretary for the agency. His appointment is effective immediately. Read more.
