Kansas is relaxing population restriction edits on DN0074 Claim Type Code (SROI) for Medical Only Claim Type Codes (M/B/W) that were not allowed on SROI. This change will allow the Trading Partners to settle the medical portion of a claim (BTC 501) when no indemnity payment is owed. The updated tables will be published on the Workers Compensation OSCAR webpage soon and will be effective from 2/26/2024.
KDOL has implemented changes to the Element Requirement Table to relax edits on payments for Medical Only claims. The changes that were implemented are listed below:
- Include Claim Type Codes M/B/W on all SROI transactions
- Initial Date Disability Began (DN0056), Initial Date Last Day Worked (DN0065), and Date Employer had Knowledge of Date of Disability (DN0281) are no longer mandatory for reporting Medical Lump Sum Payment/Settlement (501)
In addition, the following changes have been made to the Element Requirement Tables:
- First Day of Disability After the Waiting Period (DN0297) is not mandatory for reporting Medical Lump Sum Payment/Settlement BTC 501
- Date Claim Administrator Had Knowledge of Lost Time (DN0298) is not mandatory for reporting Medical Lump Sum Payment/Settlement BTC 501
