Accident Prevention Notice for Insurance Companies and Group-Funded Self-Insurance Plans

Insurance companies and group-funded self-insurance plans licensed to write Workers Compensation coverage in Kansas must file their Year-end Accident Prevention Report with the Kansas Department of Labor annually. This report is filed online which can be accessed from this page during the reporting period of July 1 - August 31. The period to be covered in the report is from July 1 of the previous year through June 30 of the current year.

Year End Accident Reporting Instructions 

By state law K.S.A. 44-5,104, insurance companies and group-funded self-insurance plans providing Workers Compensation coverage to employers in Kansas are required to provide certain safety services to those they insure.

If you are a public or private sector EMPLOYER who believes their insurance carrier or group-funded self-insurance plan has not provided accident prevention services, you may file a complaint with the Kansas Department of Labor.

Accident Prevention Notice for Employers:
If your Workers Compensation carrier denied you assistance with your health and safety program, contact the Accident Prevention Unit.
